In March I went with my two sons and a few friends to see an exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art featuring photography by Zoe Strauss. Only moments after entering the exhibit, my youngest child’s reaction was a mix of curiosity and horror. “Mom, look that guy is naked” my 12 year old whispered [...]
Photograph of a Stranger Something happened to me today that I just had to share. We all suffer from a bout of self-doubt and indecisiveness at one time or another. If you know me at all, you know I have been doing a lot of that lately. I have been questioning if I am doing [...]

I don’t usually use my blog to complain, but for this I will make an exception.
My family and I lost our dog this past Sunday and I would like to pass on this warning to other families that value their pets as members of their family.
I know we are all victims of our abysmal economy; but I was unaware, until now, of just what a toll it would take on human compassion and decency.
My Favorite Ornament Wow…I can’t believe Christmas is only two weeks away! Well I just finished decorating the Christmas Tree with my boys. I just love going through all the ornaments and reminiscing with my boys about where and when we got some of the older ornaments. Of course when my youngest pulled my Photographer [...]
Penn State Prison Visit Yes…thankfully just a visit. No photographer can resist the decay that is in every corner…what texture and character. I just wanted to share one of my favorite photos from my visit. Just couldn’t resist the leading lines that pulled you down this long corridor lined on both sides with prison cells. [...]
Williamstown High School Theater Photo Shoot I had a wonderful time photographing the Williamstown High School Production of The Man Who Came to Dinner. They are a great group of kids and they did a wonderful job! Here are just a few of my favorites from my shoot during the production. I’ve also included a [...]
I just love the Fall and I could’t resist capturing the “View From My Kitchen Window”. When I find myself dreading washing a few dishes, I at least have this to look at.
With no money or means to travel, I still managed to travel the world with some of the best photographers, see what most can only imagine, by simply turning a page. — Kelly Ann Jones
Shared this on my Graphic Design Blog yesterday, but thought I would share it here too. I was feeling a little buggy today and this little guy graciously posed for me over and over without so much as a whisper of complaint. What a wonderful model! This was also a nice addition to the Dailyshoot [...]
I had a wonderful session with Beth, one of our models. Here are just a two of my favorites from the session. It is always great working with such lovely and talented young ladies!
Finishing up on the updates for the site. Still plenty of images to add to the portfolio section which I will be doing over the next week. In the meantime…stop by and let me know what you think about the new look! Kelly Ann’s Photography
Far too often we are so caught up in life we miss the simple things that are quietly, unobtrusively providing beauty and inspiration. Who would have thought that a bench with peeling paint could provide such inspiration as it did in Ernst Haas’ photograph Peeling Paint on Iron Bench? Art surrounds us; we just need to take the time to see it.
Daily Shoot assignment for today. Show attraction in a photograph. Who better than to pose than my favorite doll Barbie staring at her one true love Ken? Yes…the doll is mine…even now I still love dolls!
As part of my new blog section on creativity, I plan to start writing about some of my favorite artists. My favorites may include photographers, painters, illustrators, or even writers. I feel creativity knows no limits and cannot be contained to just one select “group”.

I am looking for brothers to help me with a photography project I am working on. In exchange for your time and a signed release, I will give participating brothers a couple 5×7′s of the shot I use or one you like. This is not for a studio shot, it is for a shot of [...]
